in 2015, six men entered Cascade cave and two would be left behind and trapped by rising water.
The men were facing rising water and trapped at the bottom of the cave. They could only hope rescue would come before the rising water got to them first.

In 2014, a team of 5 Finnish divers attempted to dive the entire length of Plura Cave. 
Their diving expedition was meant to be a successful first captured on film.  They started at the Plura entrance instead of the usual Stein cave entrance. Disaster struck when thinks started going wrong and those who survived barely made it out alive.

A group of tourist visiting Thailand snuck into closed cave and - among other things - got stuck.
In 2007, a couple preparing to settle down, families with children, and locals looking to make money entered the Nam Tolu Cave under suspicious weather conditions.
In the end, the cave known for being an attraction for its beauty turned into a cave filled with horrors and nightmares.

The Blue Hole in New Mexico is a popular swimming and diving location that attracts thousands of divers each year.
Both times divers ignored the warnings given to them to not do something, disaster struck.
These incidents have given the Blue Hole a certain reputation of beauty and danger for divers who may consider ignoring warnings and breaking rules.

Michael Paul Lemaitre started the Mount Marathon race on a mountain in Seward, Alaska when things would go wrong. By all appearances, it seemed as if the mountain erased a man.
Missing runners and record breaking injuries were just some of the things race attendees witnessed on the mountain on July 4, 2012.

Ian Rolland was 4,500 feet underground, exploring the deepest cave in the world, when its clear something has gone wrong.
Bill Stone and the rest of the team are in the cave, but with no way to talk to Ian; they have to trust the experimental technology made by Bill, and continue further down into the deepest cave in the world.
Even the slightest mistake could be fatal, they are almost 1 mile underground after all...

Marco Siffredi was a french mountaineer and snowboarder who disappears on a mountain, specifically when attempting to snowboard down mount Everest.
He rose to fame in extreme sports because of his daring nature and can-do attitude on mountains.
Siffredi's snowboard attempt of Mount Everest was a pivotal moment for snowboarders and secured Siffredi a title in the history books.
Marco Siffredi vanished on an expedition and speculation surrounds his whereabouts today.
